A message to all members of Writing Lesson of the Month Network

...sharing thoughtful, teacher-built lessons your students will love!

A message to all members of Writing Lesson of the Month Network

No matter what holiday(s) your students celebrate this time of year, there is no denying that December is fun a time to think about toys: from new-fangled dolls to more classic Red Ryder bb guns.

We've been adding revisions to several toy-related writing lessons this month, and one really stood out to me as I thought about the upcoming holidays. Our "Little Toy Friends" Lesson--inspired by a great Robert Louis Stevenson poem--gives kids a chance to personify and "lose" a favorite toy.  It also has a fun writer's notebook page assignment that we dare your kids to not enjoy!   Check it out: http://www.writingfix.com/Poetry_Prompts/ToySoldier1.htm  We'd love to get some new student samples for this lesson!
