News from the Writing Lesson of the Month Network

...sharing thoughtful, teacher-built lessons your students will love!

A message to all members of Writing Lesson of the Month Network

If you haven't checked out WritingFix in a while, be sure to notice that we have all sorts of new opportunities for student writers to be published and celebrated on-line.  As teachers who've been publishing their students have told us, being featured on a national website is a great motivator for students to authentically go through the writing process and take it seriously.
We've just expanded our annual digital photo competition this year ( to include a new opportunity for our non-photographers who want to write stories and poems about our previous years' winning photos!

Writing about another's photographs--we've been saying this all year with our Writer's Notebook Project--is a great activity for students keeping writer's notebooks.

Keep 'em writing!
