News from the Writing Lesson of the Month Network

...sharing thoughtful, teacher-built lessons your students will love!

A message to all members of Writing Lesson of the Month Network

If you haven't checked out WritingFix in a while, be sure to notice that we have all sorts of new opportunities for student writers to be published and celebrated on-line.  As teachers who've been publishing their students have told us, being featured on a national website is a great motivator for students to authentically go through the writing process and take it seriously.
We've just expanded our annual digital photo competition this year (http://writingfix.com/classroom_tools/picture_prompts.htm) to include a new opportunity for our non-photographers who want to write stories and poems about our previous years' winning photos!

Writing about another's photographs--we've been saying this all year with our Writer's Notebook Project--is a great activity for students keeping writer's notebooks.

Keep 'em writing!

The site is organized by topics with  links to pertinent information.  The format is easy to use and the links take teachers to great resources!

Enjoy:)
